COVID 19 GUIDELINES FOR WORSHIP– PARK AVENUE BAPTIST CHURCH

If you have compromised (high risk) health, are not feeling well, or you know you have been exposed to someone with the COVID-19 virus we ask you observe the 14 day stay at home order physically and join us in spirit.  If possible, join us online at Park Avenue Baptist Church Facebook live on Sunday mornings at “Facebook.com/ParkAvenueBaptist55/”.

For those attending:

1.     Greeters will be at the door to open them for you.  No handshakes or hugs, just a hand over our heart and smile to say, “Glad you are here!”.

2.     Be respectful and loving toward one another even if you think your brother or sister have lost their minds and have gone too far on one end of the spectrum or the other.  This is scriptural.  Please see Philippians 2:1-14 and Ephesians 4:25-32.

3.     Pews are marked for seating.  Families (who are around each other regularly), may sit close together within pews. Then each family group and/or individual, must be separated by at least 6 feet.

4.     Wearing masks are encouraged if you would feel more comfortable while attending.  Please bring your own if owned, or a few cloth masks are available to borrow while you are here. Please place borrowed masks in a container available as you leave the sanctuary so they can be washed for re-use.  Antiseptic wipes are also available for your use to clean shared surfaces, if needed, while we are together.

5.     We will sing familiar songs and project the words on the screen, so you don’t have to use the hymnals unless you wish to.

6.     Offering plates will not be passed after the offering is blessed with prayer.  There will be offering plates on the back railing for you to place your tithes before or after church service.  Remember you can also give on-line at www.pabbaptistchurch.org/give.

7.     Communion, when served, will be walk-up by rows.  Juice and bread will be prepared with gloved hands and placed in individual containers.

8.     Common areas will be wiped down regularly with disinfectant.

Side Note:  Those in attendance are encouraged to come with hearts prepared to celebrate and worship the Lord together.  Let us come in faith and not in fear. Let us come with humble hearts, heeding the words of Paul, “Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” Phil. 2:4 (NKJV)

Philippians 2:1-14 (NLT2)

1  Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate?

2  Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

3  Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.

4  Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

5  You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

6  Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.

7  Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form,

8  he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.

9  Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, 10  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

11  and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

12  Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear.

13  For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

14  Do everything without complaining and arguing,    Philippians 2:1-14

Ephesians 4:25-32 (NLT2)
25  So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body.
26  And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry,
27  for anger gives a foothold to the devil.
28  If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need.
29  Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
30  And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.
31  Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.
32  Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:25-32
